About the Author

Mary Pierce is the author of three books of humorous inspiration published by Zondervan/Harper Collins: When Did I Stop Being Barbie and Become Mrs. Potato Head; Confessions of a Prayer Wimp; and When Did My Life Become a Game of Twister.
Mary spent the better part of twenty years writing for publication—books, articles and a humor column for a national magazine—and as a speaker/humorist, traveling around the country bringing laughter and encouragement to audiences at women’s wellness events and retreats.
She left the speaking circuit to care for her aging mother, who had dementia. After six years as primary family caregiver, Mary returned to school, earning a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the age of 60. As a counselor/psychotherapist, she works with adults in transition who are dealing with depression, anxiety, and life changes. She specializes in trauma reprocessing and caregiver support, as well as grief support.
In the other half of her time, she writes—the Mackenzie Prentice mystery series and other projects. She also enjoys messing around with collage and assemblage as a mixed media artist. (What is it about fingers full of paint and glue that brings such joy?)
She and her husband Terry share six children and eleven grandchildren. They make their home in Wisconsin, with Sammy, a goldendoodle puppy named after their favorite pizza place.
